In mid Februrary 2013 I started my two months tenure as a researcher in residence in the faculty of theology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands. My research area is Chan/Zen Practice in China and the West. A few days arter my arrival, my hosting professor of Buddhism Andre van der Braak inivted me to sit in his class of Mahayana Buddhism for which I was expected to teach  a couple of lectures later on. Co-inciently Jnanamati was also visiting the class through Mirjam Hartkamp's…

The Ultimate Gift of Love

http://http://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/unified-theory-happiness/201302/the-ultimate-gift-love

There is much we can do for our long-term lover. But then there is something way bigger we must be.

Please respond critically to this BLOG that comes originally form Psychology Today.

With heart,

network

Hi David, and everybody,

just a couple of lines aimed at expressing my feelings of deep gratitude and interested for what you are generating with ITZI. It's something really great, intelligently crossing the boundaries between the different traditions and yet respecting their specificities and the opportunities each of them can offer for practicing in the light of the Dharma.

The Pundarika centre, in Tuscany, is ready to become one of the nodes of the ITZI network, fully…

ZT & Therapeutic Space

We have just completed a workshop on Zen Therapy and Therapeutic Space in Berriz in northern Spain. This went very well and was interesting especially for the discussion of the effects of spontaneous action, intentional action, and unintentional effect in social as well as therapeutic relations.

Dharma in the NHS

Mindfulness with NHS staff meeting: Exploring - Sharing - Connecting.

I am extremely happy to report that we had 28 NHS staff from all across Dorset at last evening's "Mindfulness with NHS staff meeting: Exploring - Sharing - Connecting." We met in Westbourne in the Hall. The Hall, including the entire complex (my work place) was mainly designed by Florence Nightingale in the late 1800. We had a wide range of delegates, from Consultant…

Rob's introduction

What a good idea Massimo to introduce ourselves; many of us have only met through our little photos here and our profiles and this is a place of friendship and sharing.

I was born in 1954, have two adult daughters and have lived most of my life in Melbourne Australia. My passion for living found expression in alternative political and social structures since my late teens. Work to me was in opposing militarism and work to help turn around the damage we were doing to our ecology. I am…

self-introduction

Dear friends,

I was extremely honoured by the invitation from David to join the ITZI board. I gratefully accepted and now I have to introduce a little bit myself.

I'm 64 years old, born and grown up in Rome. I'm an experienced social scientist, recently retired from the Institute where I spent about half of my entire life, but still actively engaged in my professional field. I teach, as a "contract professor" in the Faculty of Education Science of the…

We had our first ITZI-talk with Dharmavidya in Belgium!

Dharmavidya and Jnanamati are now a week in Belgium and I have the luck to may live with them in the same house. it is just wonderful: we cook, eat, talk, sit in silence, laugh, do the dishes, practice, listen to the birds and the wind, discuss and...we're happy and supportive to each other. Beside this good basic, we went to visit two men, who can be important to start the zentherapytraining next year in autumn: one about psychiatry-buddhism-mindfulness and the other around fasciatherapy.…

The following two lovely pieces are currently being used in a zazenkai meeting in Gran Canaria. I'll translate them when I get a minute.

"El despertar y el amor son una misma cosa. El despertar es comprension y es amor en accion. Pero la accion de ese amor es oculta, desconocida porque no es la accion de un sujeto sobre unos objetos. No puedes conocer mas que los frutos. La accion del amor es…

Some thoughts around the influence of the body-image in psychotherapy/Zentherapy.

In this article, I give attention to the body-image as part of the healing process in psychotherapy/Zentherapy. How is the embodiment of the therapist and of the cliënt?

As I'm Flamish, there will be faults in my writing. Sorry for this.

It would be fine if people…
