In mid Februrary 2013 I started my two months tenure as a researcher in residence in the faculty of theology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands. My research area is Chan/Zen Practice in China and the West. Born in Strasbourg where I studied philosophy. I have a PhD in French literature from Adelaïde (Australia) and a doctorate from Paris. I have been teaching philosophy in various secondary schools in France. With my husband from Assam (India) we settled in various countries (Australia,Venezuela, Canada, Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, US) where I taught french as a foreign language. I have one daughter and 2 grandsons. I am a widow, retired and settled since 2008 in a small buddhist community in the centre of France. I followed a small Zen Soto group near Strasbourg for about 3 years before joining a Tibetan Shangpa sangha.
What can you offer to ITZI, & what is your interest in being a member?
I am able to translate written texts from english to french. I am open to all schools of buddhism and interested in anything published on buddhism and philosophy. Having myself authored a few books, I am interested in writing and discusssion with people who have similar interests.
Our center is directed by Lama Shera Namdreul who belongs to the Tibetan Kagyu Shangpa school. I am also member of Bodhicharya France, under Ringu Tulku Rinpoche who is my root lama.
