Getting started

Posted by Caifang Zhu on March 31, 2013 at 13:39 5 Comments

In mid Februrary 2013 I started my two months tenure as a researcher in residence in the faculty of theology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands. My research area is Chan/Zen Practice in China and the West. Co-inciently Jnanamati was also visiting the class through Mirjam Hartkamp's…

Spiritual Teacher Training at Eleusis

June 18, 2013 to June 21, 2013
At Eleusis we are concerned with a generic approach to spiritual development. It is a wonderful aspect of the modern world that we have available the wisdom of all the great religious and spiritual traditions. All these traditions are transmitted from generation to generation through the medium of heart to heart relationships. The teacher shows a lore. He or she declares a way and does so for the most part by living it. If others come for instruction this might be given didactically, but the…See More

Rob's introduction

Posted on May 15, 2012 at 4:23 1 Comment

What a good idea Massimo to introduce ourselves; many of us have only met through our little photos here and our profiles and this is a place of friendship and sharing.

I was born in 1954, have two adult daughters and have lived most of my life in Melbourne Australia. My passion for living found expression in alternative political and social structures since my late teens. Work to me was in opposing militarism and work to help turn around the damage we were doing to our ecology. I am…

Thanks, Rob - your kind welcome is much appreciated. You are always very supportive of us all, whether it's on Friends of Amida, the ongoing Vow 22 Discussion site, or here. You may usually be on the other side of the world from many of us, but you are always 'right here' as a friend in the Dharma. I have happy memories of our discussions when we met briefly at Narborough the December before last during the ten day chanting retreat - ships that passed in the night! Be well and happy- Namo Amida Bu !

Thanks for this,Rob. Sadly, I don't think I'll be around in London at that time, but I live in hope that our paths will cross somewhere and at some time in the not too distant future ! Namo Amida Bu, Richard.
